ALEXANDRIA EARTH DAY CELEBRATION, APRIL 21, 2007
Earth Day was celebrated at the Ben Brenman Park, 4800 Duke St., Alexandria, VA 22304.
Alexandria Earth Day 2007 Committee members were Joy Pochatila, EPC, ED, Chair; Stacy Herring, Alexandria TES, Recycling Coordinator; Diana Handy, Alexandria TES, DEQ; Heather Jones, VA Coop Extension; Robert Gordon, Alexandria Parks and Recreation; Lucy Shapiro, EPC; Ernie Lehmann, Sierra Club; German A. Vanegas, FOTO; and several other volunteers. Planning for this event started in November '06 until the first week of April '07.
This celebration was a great success with over 200 people attending and enjoying the actvities presented by several organizations.
